Out on Blu-ray and DVD September 5, 2017 The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks. This movie tells the story of an African-American woman who becomes the unwitting pioneer for multiple medical developments, such as the polio vaccine, when her cells are harvested to create the first immortal human cell line. Her story that was previously lost in history is brought to life in this HBO film.
In this adaptation of Rebecca Skloot critical Acclaimed, best-selling nonfiction book of the same name the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is told through the eyes of Henrietta lacks daughter Deborah Lacks. The film Chronicles her search along with journalist Rebecca Skloot to learn about the mother she never knew and understand how the on the unauthorized harvesting of Lackś cancer cells in 1951 lead to unprecedented medical breakthroughs, changing countless lives and the face of medicine forever.
This was a really good movie about the life and out come of Henrietta Lacks I really enjoyed hearing the story of how she helped so many people and was sad to find out her daughter was never able to see or read the book that was published about her life.
This is on Blu-ray and DVD it comes out September 5, 2017 and runs approximately 92 minutes.
