When I got them I really didn't know how to use them I put my hair in a ponytail and tried to pull the ponytail out when I was done. However, this is not how you do it you put your hair in a ponytail and then when you're ready to take it out all you do is release the snap and Wala your ponytail is out and it doesn't pull your hair at all.
